Who is SLB VIDEO?

SLB VIDEO is a video-film production company made up of a group of specialists from the hotel, catering and training fields. It is the team's aim to make basic and advanced training in the foodservice industry more varied and interesting.

The team produces basic educational and advanced training video films in cooperation with the Trade Associations, The Nestlé Pro Gastronomia Foundation and many qualified professionals.

The films are produced in Switzerland. The original language is German. All films are translated into English, some into Spanish or French. Consultants for the English versions are the staff of the "Les Roches" Hotel Management School, Bluche, Switzerland and Brendan Cronin, Culinary Instructor, Endicott College, Beverly, Mass. USA.

What is SLB VIDEO producing ?

Relatively short - about 15 to 20 minutes - with accompanying work sheet(s).

These films are made with the help of highly qualified professionals and are based on the latest theories in professional education, mainly from the E. Pauli book "Modern Cooking The Classical Way".

French and German terminology is basically employed, but great stress is placed on international vocabulary. Because specialized terms are often local or regional, it is not always possible to use the term familiar to the user. There are, however, good opportunities for the instructor to explain the differences, thus emphasizing the learning process for the viewers.

The attached work sheets make it possible to familiarize oneself with the material and subsequently check the viewers' progress.

These films last from 30 to 45 minutes. They deal with various aspects of kitchen, pastry, service and other techniques.

They are aimed at the apprentice, the trainee, the professional or anyone who would like to further their knowledge.

The films are equally suitable for basic learning programs, i.e. in the last year of apprenticeships or training.

SLB VIDEO also produces commercial films. They are suitable for presentations of hotels, restaurants, factories and can be used for all kinds of presentations, e.g. during professional fairs and exhibitions or competitions, particularly when possessing international character.
